Tourmaline Jewelry
Tourmaline is a semi-precious gemstone known for its wide range of colors. It can occur in a variety of hues, including pink, green, blue, yellow, and black, with some stones displaying multiple colors within a single crystal, a phenomenon called "bi-color" or "watermelon" tourmaline. The name "tourmaline" is derived from the Sinhalese word "turmali," which means "mixed colors." Tourmaline is used in jewelry and comes in various cuts, including faceted and cabochon, to showcase its vibrant colors. Each color of tourmaline may have unique trade names, such as "rubellite" for pink to red tourmaline and "indicolite" for blue tourmaline.
